Living LEGOs

Students learn about heredity using LEGO chromosomes and LEGO fish with inherited traits. They also learn how environmental agents can cause disease by damaging DNA and causing mutations.

Hey It's Your Backyard

By participating in this program you will consider how your lifestyles and daily consumer choices impact the environment. You will also explore how you, as an individual or part of a concerned citizen group, can bring about change in government policies and environmental practice.

Grungy Groundwater

Students discover how water and pollutants move underground and how pollutants affect surface and drinking water.

Nuclear Energy: the Good, the Bad and the Debatable

Learn more about nuclear technology, its benefits and its dangers. (This Program is supported by a Core Center Award, P30-ESO2109, for the National Institute of Environmental Health and Science and the National Institutes of Health.)

Environmental Health Perspectives

News articles published in EHP and environmental health science lessons based on selected articles. Lessons are aligned with National Science Education Standards in biology, chemistry, environmental science, geology, and physical science, and are targeted at students in grades 9-12.
